The main focus of BEE Lab is the characterization of multi-layer dry nZEB Enabler Envelope Solutions facing health and safety requirements. This test-chain can test and analyse innovative building envelope products and/or materials, especially about their thermal, acoustic, photometric and comfort performances, with the goal to provide a comprehensive M&V approach to develop innovative, pioneering and optimized solutions.
Through the use of appropriate sensors or simulation tools, the main services are:
– thermal tests (e.g., thermoflowmetry, thermography, monitoring of surface/interstitial temperatures, evaluation of the effectiveness of ventilation systems);
– hygrometric tests (e.g., surface/interstitial humidity monitoring, evaluation of the effectiveness of ventilation systems);
– acoustic tests (e.g., soundproofing power of envelope);
– lighting tests (e.g., testing of glazed surfaces, coatings and shading);
– air tightness tests (e.g., Blower Door Test);
– Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) tests (e.g., CO2, PM, VOCs, and other pollutants);
– durability tests of façade materials and systems.
