At the BEEpilot a multisite team works on different topics related to the Building Architectural Engineering field.

SALVALAI Graziano, Ph.D. Eng.

SALVALAI Graziano is Associate Professor at Politecnico di Milano, ABC Department, where he teaches the courses of Energy Efficient Buildings and Technology of Building Components. He is the Scientific Director of the BEELab. He is the scientific director of several funded projects, and author of more than 100 publications. His research focuses on innovative construction techniques, on the building-systems integration and on its control through energy simulation tools.

SESANA Marta M., Ph.D. Eng.

SESANA Marta Maria is Associate Professor at University of Brescia, DICATAM Deptartment, where she teaches the course of Building Architectural and Performance Engineering. She is the Deputy director of the BEELab. She is author of several publications on deep renovation for existing building, modeling and simulation and human-centered sustainability, regulations and tools for innovation, sustainability assessment and energy efficiency for the built environment.

BRUTTI Diletta, Eng.

BRUTTI Diletta is a Ph.D. Student at Politecnico di Milano, ABC Department. Her thesis and research focus on the testing, monitoring and upscaling of energy-efficient multilayer dry envelope components and solutions, under the supervision of Prof. Salvalai and co-supervision of Prof. Sesana. As part of the Building Energy Efficiency (BEE) Team, she collaborates on both research and lab activities.

ISACCO Ilaria, Eng.

ISACCO Ilaria is a Research Fellow at Politecnico di Milano, ABC Department. She is part of the Building Energy Efficiency (BEE) Team and, within that, she collaborates on both research and lab activities. The main focus of her activities is the analysis of strategies and technologies for the reduction of risks related to the urban heat island effects in the built environment.

DELL’ORO Paolo, Eng.

DELL’ORO Paolo is a Ph.D. Student at University of Brescia, DICATAM Department, where he also provides support for teaching activities in the course of Building Architecture Engineering . He is part of the research team of prof. Sesana, and as part of the Building Energy Efficiency (BEE) Team, he collaborates on research activities. The main focus of his activities is the analysis of envelope solutions under real application in lab and simulation analysis and LCA analysis.

VILLA Roberto, Eng.

VILLA Roberto is a Research Fellow at Politecnico di Milano, ABC Department. He is part of the Building Energy Efficiency (BEE) Team and, within that, he collaborates on both research and lab activities. The focus of his activities is the creation of a digital model that considers the building occupants to predict and improve the management of the built environment.

GADUSSO Francesca, Eng.

GADUSSO Francesca is a Ph.D. Student at Politecnico di Milano, ABC Department. Her thesis and research focus on the analysis of the sustainability and resilience of alpine mountain huts for the development of a roadmap to guide sustainable mountain hut renovations and improve climate change adaptation in Alpine landscapes, under the supervision of prof. Salvalai and co-supervision of prof. Sesana.  As part of the Building Energy Efficiency (BEE) Team, she collaborates on both research and consultancy activities.

ZHU Yunxi

ZHU Yunxi is a Ph.D. student at Politecnico di Milano, ABC Department. Her thesis and research focus on developing a dynamic zero-carbon community model based on the appliance of photovoltaic facilities through multiple simulations, under the supervision of prof. Salvalai and co-supervision of prof. Sesana. As part of the Building Energy Efficiency (BEE) Team, she collaborates on different research activities.

ZHAO Feiyu

ZHAO Feiyu is a Ph.D. student at Politecnico di Milano, ABC Department. Her thesis and research focus on reducing energy consumption in existing buildings while enhancing occupant comfort through the use of dynamic photovoltaic shading devices (PVSD). Under the supervision of prof. Salvalai and co-supervision of prof. Sesana, she aims to evaluate the effectiveness of façade renovations by utilizing simulation and monitoring techniques. As part of the Building Energy Efficiency (BEE) Team, she collaborates on different research activities.

DALLAVALLE Elisa

DALLAVALLE Elisa is a Research Fellow at University of Brescia, DICATAM Department. She is a member of the Building Energy Efficiency (BEE) Team and, within that, she collaborates on research activities. She is also part of the research team of prof. Sesana, and under the MUR-funded project RERoadS she focuses her activities on the development of the first School Building Renovation Passport in order to create specific renovation and education roadmaps towards carbon neutrality.
